Zona Zeeck, age 75, of Huron, died Monday, August 27, 2012, at Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron. Her funeral service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at Immanuel Lutheran Church rural Cavour with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 pm Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at Welter Funeral Home with family present from 6-8 pm; or one hour prior to service at the church. Zona Gail Zeeck was born August 1, 1937 in Argonne, SD to Fred and Inez (Leighton) Ross. She attended school in Alpena and then Huron and graduated from Huron High School in 1956. Zona studied to be an RN at St. John's School of Nursing and graduated in 1959. After graduating she worked in Pediatrics at St. John's Hospital. Zona married Myron Zeeck at the American Lutheran Church on January 22, 1961. Zona later worked at SunQuest Healthcare Center and did so for over 27 years, until her retirement in 2005. She was a member of the Marine Corps League Auxiliary, American Legion Bensley-Rounds Post #208 Auxiliary, and the Immanuel Lutheran Ladies Aide. Zona enjoyed many hobbies some of them included embroidery, giving gifts and canning chicken. She also volunteered her time at the Senior Center and Adult Daycare. Zona is survived by her husband of 51 years, Myron Zeeck of Huron; one daughter, Glenda (Glen) Palmquist of Carpenter, SD; three grandchildren, Drew, Callie and Cody Palmquist; and several nieces and nephews. Zona was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Scott in 1995, a sister, Alice Ross and several half siblings.
