Zeta Frankenstein, age 91, of 1345 Michigan Ave. SW, Huron, died Thursday, October 18, 2007, at the Huron Nursing Home. Her funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 22, at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Rinearson officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the Welter Funeral Home with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m., and Monday morning one hour prior to the service at the church. Zeta Frankenstein was born Zeta Boyd on February 23, 1916, to Alfred and Laura (Erwin) Boyd at Tulare, SD. She was the oldest of 6 children and attended all of her school years in Tulare. On Jun 19, 1937, Zeta married Carlos Jaquette in Tulare. The couple lived most of their married life in Huron. Two children were born to this union: Carol and Carl. Carlos passed away on January 31, 1973. On June 28, 1983, Zeta married Melvin Frankenstein at First Baptist Church in Huron. He died on July 4, 1988. She was a past member of First Baptist Church and the Ruth Circle; presently a member of First United Methodist Church; Rainbow Lodge #388 (railroad); St. Johns Hospital Auxiliary; Huron area Senior Center and R.S.V.P.; Card Club; and Forrest McMullen VFW Post #1776. Her many interests included embroidery, knitting, crocheting baby-hats for the hospital and afghans for members of her family, playing cards, board games, gardening, and watching the Minnesota Twins. She is survived by a daughter, Carol (Bill) Schultz of Ft. Worth, TX; 7 granddaughters, Pamela (Neil) Poulisse of Huron, Susan (Don) Kingen of Ft. Worth, TX, Terry (Brian) Skelly of Ft. Worth, TX, Michele (Chance) Lankford of Ft. Worth, TX, Dawn Clark of Hanover, MD, Melissa (Bill) Keaton of Northbridge, Mass, and Charlene (Brian) Hill of Jacksonville, TN; 3 step children, Roger, Stanley, and Janice; a daughter-in-law, Patricia (Frank) Coy of Jacksonville, TN; 17 great grandchildren including Tony Jaquette; 3 great great grandchildren; 20 step grandchildren; 12 step great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Beth Newland of Flagstaff, AZ, Shirley (Harry) Schneider of Omaha, NE, and Treva Costanza of CA; and 1 brother, Grant Boyd of CA. She was preceded in death by her parents; both of her husbands, Carlos Jaquette and Melvin Frankenstein; her son, Carl Jaquette; 1 sister, Romaine Yount; 3 great great grandchildren; 1 stepson, Dick Frankenstein; 6 brothers-in-law, Pete Yount, Art Newland, John Costanza, Lawrence Jaquette, Otto Carstens, and Leo Jaquette; 4 sisters-in-law, Florence Jaquette Sawvell, Liz Boyd, Iva Carstens, and Eleanor Zamarripa; several nieces and nephews.
