Wilson Dessonville, age 91, of Miller, SD, and formerly of rural Wessington, died Wednesday morning, January 3, 2007, at the Prairie Good Samaritan Center at Miller. His funeral Mass will be at 2:00 PM Friday, January 5, 2007, at St. Josephs Catholic Church at Wessington with Father John Helmueller officiating. Burial will be at the St. Josephs Catholic Cemetery at Wessington. Friends may call one hour prior to the mass at the church Friday afternoon. Lunch will be proved at the Wessington Legion Hall following the burial service. Wilson Francis Dessonville was born on November 19, 1915, to Theodore and Ida (Stiner) Dessonville on a farm north of Wessington, SD. He was the youngest on nine children. He attended rural schools in the Grand Township area and also attended Wessington High School Due to a sports injury, he spent 17 years at the Yankton Human Services Facility. In 1952, he moved to Watertown to live with his brother, Ed. He spent the next thirty years working for his family and friends. He worked hard and enjoyed his life, remembering many dates and details. Due to vision loss he entered Prairie Good Samaritan Center at Miller on December 4, 1985, and made that his home. He was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church at Wessington. Wilson is survived by a number of nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers and sisters, Elizabeth Matthews, Ed Dessonville, Florence Marshall, Alice Brown, Albert Dessonville, Gertrude Buck, Gilbert Dessonville, and Fred Dessonville. Casket bearers will be Frank Lockner, Clair Bonebright, Vern Hill, Stanlee Lakner, Rennald Stiner, and Lawrence Runge.
