William "Willy" J. Peterson, age 59, of Huron, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. His Memorial Service will be at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron with burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Huron.

William Joseph Peterson was born on June 29, 1963 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Willy has spent the last 36 years with the Center for Independence in Huron where he was loved and cared for by many staff members.

He enjoyed watching football and watching Westerns and The Lawrence Welk Show. Willy also enjoyed visiting with people, going for walks, going to movies, plays and concerts.

He is survived by many friends, staff members and caregivers.
