William J. Bill Bell, age 74, of Huron, formerly of Lake Byron, died Saturday March 6, 2010, at the Sunquest Healthcare Center Hospice of Lung Cancer.
His Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with burial in St. Martin's Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Church.
William Bell, son of Wilbur and Mary (Lovett) Bell, was born on April 18, 1935, in Huron, SD. He attended schools and graduated from Huron High School. Bill was employed at the Huron Daily Plainsman for several years
Bill married Audrey Bertha on September 21, 1960, and they resided in Huron. He was with the Huron Fire Department for many years and then owned and operated B&B Fire Equipment. Bill and Audrey then moved to Lake Byron where they enjoyed boating and fishing. He was also a member of of the Lake Byron Township Board. Bill was member of the St. Martins Catholic Church and the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish.
Grateful for having shared in his life are his brother, Barry (Vi) Bell of Huron; 2 nieces, Kerry Bell of Huron, and Karen (John) Schmidt of Woonsocket; 2 great nephews, Jesse Schmidt and fiance Brandy Kientoff, and Jeremy Schmidt, all of Woonsocket; sisters-in-law, Elaine (Tony) Wald of Strasburg, ND, Carol (Daryl) Bentz of Minneapolis, MN; and many nieces and nephews
William was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Audrey in 1997; and half-sister, Lorraine (Johnny) Johnson of Denver, Co; and his companions, Zipper and Putz.
Memorials may be made in Bill's name to the humane society of Huron.
