Wayne C. Waldron, Age 79, of Huron, SD passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at his home in Huron.
His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with burial in St. Martins Cemetery, Huron.
Visitation with the family present will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, February 8, at the Welter Funeral Home; or one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
Wayne C. Waldron, the son of James K. and Esther (Molter) Waldron, was born on April 11, 1936 in Huron, SD. Wayne was a lifetime resident of Huron and attended Huron schools. Wayne worked along side his stepfather at the Conrad Dairy and continued to raise cattle on the family farm. He was later employed with the Beadle County Highway Department as a truck driver and mechanic for many years before retiring. Wayne also served his country in the Army National Guard.
Wayne married Marlene Ames on September 8, 1962 at the St. Martin Catholic Church in Huron, SD. The couple made their home in Huron and raised their daughters, Hally and Michelle. Marlene passed away in 1984. On January 23, 1998 Wayne married Kathleen Mowry.
Wayne enjoyed hunting, fishing, automobile repair and restoration, and reading books. He was also a gun collector. Wayne was an avid NASCAR fan and Vikings fan. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Grateful for having shared in Wayne's life are his wife Kathleen of Huron, SD; two daughters, Hally (Rod) Witte of Huron, SD and Michelle (Bob) Carlson of Huron; his stepchildren: Lisa (Jason) Johnson of Sheldon, IA, Laurie Mowry of Rock Rapids, IA, and Leann Mowry of Sioux Falls, SD; four grandchildren: Esther Witte, Amanda Carlson, Ryan Carlson, and Eric Witte; four step-grandchildren: Nate and Aric Knoblock and Nicole and Claire Johnson; great-grandchild, Emmanuel Benitez; sister, Barbara Evenson of Huron, SD; and several nieces and nephews.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife Marlene in 1984; and brother, James M. Waldron.
