Wayne A. Kuehl, age 59, of 225 Beach Ave SE, Huron, died Friday, September 22, 2006 at the Benedictine Health Center of Minnesota at Minneapolis, MN. His Memorial service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 27th at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church with Rev. Jonathan Boehne and Rev. L. Scott Spiehs officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery with Military Rites by the Huron Veterans Council. Friends may call Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home. There will be a Devotional Service at 7:00 PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home with the family present from 7:00 to 8:30 PM. Wayne Allen Kuehl was born on October 3, 1946, to Erhard and Edna (Ulrich) Kuehl at Huron. He attended Huron grade school and graduated from Huron High School and Huron College. After his graduation from Huron College he entered the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge from the United States Army, Wayne moved back to Huron and was employed with the Huron Daily Plainsman as a mail room supervisor and later Dakota Pork. Wayne was a heart and lung transplant recipient on December 30, 1997. Wayne was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church and a life-member of William Reaves American Legion Post #7 and Forrest McMullen VFW Post #1776. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, cross-word puzzles and photography. He is survived by his mother Edna Kuehl of Huron; one brother, Max (Jan) Kuehl of Coon Rapids, MN; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents.
