Wayne L. Diede, age 75, of Huron, passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023 unexpectedly at his home in Huron. His Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 10, 2023 at Faith Alive Church (formerly First United Methodist Church) in Huron.

Wayne Lee Diede was born on March 24, 1948 in Huron to parents Edmund and Arlene (Anderson) Diede. He attended Huron schools, graduating in 1966. Wayne married Karen Scheel in Huron on November 30, 1968.

Wayne worked at Flanery Meats for many years. In later years, he was a farm hand for different farmers, did yard work and snow removal, and enjoyed tinkering. He enjoyed his years racing cars and drag racing and hunting pheasants and deer. He was a member of the Beadle County Sportsmen's Club and First United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his children, Jill (Roger) Arbogast, and Brian (Jenna) Diede, all of Huron; 8 grandchildren, Caitie (Levi) Fawcett, Austin (Tori) Arbogast, and Karsen Arbogast, Dawson Diede, Madelynn Diede, Bradyn Diede, Grace Diede and Harper Diede; 3 great-grandchildren, Tabor, Kora and Berkley Fawcett; his brother, Neil (Karen) Diede of Brandon and his sister, Peggy Diede of Custer; his two special dogs, Max and Snowball.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Donna Diede.
