Waneta Waldner, age 65, of 427 3rd St. SE, Huron, died Friday, December 1, 2006 at the Huron Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 6th at the Welter Funeral Home with Rev. Steven Brandsrud officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday afternoon and evening with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM or Wednesday morning until the time of service at the funeral home. Waneta R. Waldner was born on January 10, 1941, to George and Edna (Wheat) Waldner at Huron. She attended Huron grade schools and Huron High School. In 1959, Waneta married Alford J. Waldner at Pipestone, MN. They moved to a farm near Yale and lived there until 2003 when they moved to Huron where they have lived since that time. She enjoyed her casino trips and playing bingo and fishing. She is survived by her husband Alford of Huron; 2 sons, LeRoy of Huron and Donnie of Nebraska; 1 daughter, Linda (Bob) Elshaug of Bryant; 4 grandchildren, Kyle Waldner, Derick Pownell, Bonnie Elshaug and Barbara Elshaug; 1 great granddaughter, Trinity Marie Elshaug; and 4 nieces. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Mandy Waldner, her parents, 1 brother Bernard Waldner and 1 sister, Wilma Lutz. Casket bearers will be LeRoy Waldner, Bob Elshaug, Bob Schutt, Brady Schutt, Derick Pownell and Jack Pownell.
