Virginia S. Diede, age 53 of Huron, died on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at the SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron, after a long battle with cancer.
Her Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron with burial at the Highmore Cemetery in rural Highmore, SD.
Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Friday, September 10, at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron, SD, with the family present from 6-8 p.m., with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 p.m., or one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
Virginia S. Vanegas the daughter of Pedro and Teresa (Suarez) Vanegas was born on December 18, 1956 in Bogota Colombia. Virginia graduated from high school in Bogota, Colombia. On December 3, 1978, Virginia married Luis Montoya in Bogota Colombia. Luis died on August 26, 2003 She moved to the United States in 2001. Virginia married Tony Diede on July 11, 2003 in Huron, SD. Virginia was employed at Dakota Provisions for a number of years.
Virginia was a member of the Iglesia Evangelica Nueva Jerusalem Discipulos Decristo Church in Huron. She enjoyed camping, shopping, and going to rummage sales. Her family and friends were very important to her, and she loved to have big family get togethers at ther home. Virginia was always so vibrant and full of life.
Grateful for having shared in her life are her husband, Tony Diede of Wessington Springs, SD; her son, Luis (Emily) Montoya, of Huron, SD; her 2 daughters, Paola Montoya of Bogota, Colombia and Yeimmy Montoya of Bogota, Colombia; 4 grandchildren; her parents Pedro and Teresa Vanegas of Bogota, Colombia; two sisters, Elizabeth Vanegas and Nelsy Vanegas both of Bogota, Colombia; and sister-in-law, Mary Jacobs.
Virginia was preceded in death by her first husband, Luis Montoya; her son, David Montoya; and two brothers, Manuel and Mauricio Vanegas.
