Obituary

Violet V. Weber, age 79, of Redfield, SD, formerly of Huron, died Saturday December 8, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Redfield, SD. Her Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 13, 2012 at American Lutheran Church with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 12, with the family present from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday night at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron, SD; or one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Violet V. Brenner, the daughter of Ed Sr. and Katrina (Heer) Brenner was born on April 8, 1933 in Alpena, SD. Violet attended country schools in the Alpena area. Violet worked for the Armour Meat Packing Plant in Huron, SD for many years. Violet also worked at the American Legion. Violet married Phillip Peterson. To this union were born 4 children: Linda, Ginger, Kevin, and Coral. On December 17, 1966 Violet married Elmer Weber in Huron, SD. The couple lived in Huron for many years. Violet also lived in Mitchell, SD. Violet was a member of American Lutheran Church, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Violet was always neat and tidy and kept her home spotless. She was an excellent cook and baker. Violet loved to dance and enjoyed attending the singles dances. Violet loved to spend time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to any one of her friends in need. Grateful for having shared in Violet's life are her son, Kevin (Tammy) Peterson of Iroquois, SD; her three daughters, Linda (Larry) Barker of Sparks, NV, Ginger (Bob) Collier of Rapid City, SD, and Coral (Ron) Therriault of Quartz Hills, CA; seven grandchildren: Michael, Jason, Kimberly, Larry Jr., Terry, Shannon, and Jessica; three great-grandchildren: Kayley and Kiera Barker, and Reese Peterson; brother, Eugene (Rose) Brenner, of Huron, SD; and several nieces and nephews. Violet was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands Phillip and Elmer; granddaughter, Tiffany; brother, Ed Brenner; and sister, Lorraine Baker
