Viola Mae Ochsner, age 97, of Alpena, SD, passed away on Saturday, July27, 2019 at the Avera Weskota Memorial Hospital in Wessington Springs, SD.

Her Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Friday, August 2, 2019 at the Welter funeral Home in Huron, SD with burial at the Restlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home on Friday.

Viola Mae Buskohl was born May 3, 1922, near Parker, SD to Wessel and Tena (Gerdes) Buskohl.  She graduated from the Germany Township 86 school near Parker.

On January 15, 1941, she married Ariel Ochsner in Rock Rapids, IA. They lived and farmed all of their lives in Grant Township near Alpena, SD.

Viola attended the Alpena parish. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. She appreciated music and enjoyed playing the piano and accordion. She loved spending time with her family and friends especially playing with her grandchildren. Viola always enjoyed serving a refreshing ice coke with cheese and crackers to visitors. Her favorite hobby was mowing her lawn.

Grateful for having shared in Viola's life are sons; Darwin (Doreen) Ochsner, Delwin (Linda) Ochsner; daughter, Delila (Roy) Webster; seven grandchildren; DeVonne (Scott) Losing, Dean (Shawn) Ochsner, Danielle (Dave) Vlastuin, Darcie Webster, Adam (Paige) Ochsner, Tye (Rachelle) Ochsner, and Katie (Brandon) Ochsner; thirteen great-grandchildren; Amy (Chris) Albrecht, Ashley (Zach) Losing, Dylan Ochsner, Landon (Cassidee) Ochsner, Kennadie Ochsner, Kamryn Ochsner, Casey Vlastuin, Jordan (Kara) Vlastuin, Joshua Webster, Jacob Webster, Oliver Ochsner, Gus Ochsner, and Makenzi Fujita; and four great-great-grandchildren; Cade and Cale Albrecht, Keegan and Payton Ochsner.

Viola was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ariel Ochsner in 1986; four brothers; Heye Buskohl, Dick Buskohl, Harvey Buskohl, and an infant; three sisters; Anna Brass, Etta Dreesman, and Dorothy Loof; and son-in-law Roy Webster.
