Vincent D. Heyn, age 77, of Huron, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at his home in Huron. His memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron.

Vincent DePaul Heyn was born on March 19, 1944 in Watertown, South Dakota to parents Vincent and Myrtle (Boerner) Heyn. He attended Holy Rosary Catholic School and Clear Lake High School.

Vincent married Carol Jean Gerlach on May 19, 1973 in Kransburg, South Dakota. Vincent worked at LSI in Alpena from 1999 to 2021.

He enjoyed being outdoors, going for drives by water, scrapbooks, fill-in-the-blanks puzzle books, parking vehicles for the state fair, and most importantly spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish.

Grateful for having shared in his life is his wife, Carol of Huron; children, David (Brandy) Heyn of Harrisburg and Katherine Heyn of Huron; 3 grandchildren, Jeryn Heyn, MaKenna Heyn and Vincent "Vinnie" Morse; siblings, Larry (Gail) Heyn of Sioux City, Dick Heyn of Watertown, Mike Heyn of Watertown, Dale Heyn of Goodwin, sisters-in-law, Ann (Dallas) Hansen of Minneapolis, Janice Labor of Huron, Susan Gerlach of Aberdeen, and brother-in-law, Armond (Darlyn) DeYoung of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his parents, twin daughters Lisa and Beth Heyn, sister-in-law Lois Heyn and brother-in-law, Larry Gerlach.
