Vickie Miller, age 65, of 1585 Beach Ave. SE, Huron, died Saturday morning, January 28, 2006, at her home. Her funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Thursday, February 2, at the Congregational United Church of Christ with Rev. Brian Grover officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home. The family will be present from 7:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Vickie Miller was born Vickie L. Christensen on September 18, 1940, to Jens and Lucile (Anderson) Christensen at Wessington Springs, SD. She graduated from Wessington Springs High School in 1958. She attended Northern State College at Aberdeen, SD. She married Robert Miller on November 26, 1960 in Wessington Springs. They lived in Redfield, SD, for 2 years, Langdon, ND, for 3 years, Scotland, SD, for 6 years, and moved to Huron in 1971. She worked as a teachers aid until 1975 when she started a partnership with her brother-in-law, Michael Miller, and opened Millers Jewelry in Huron. She was an avid reader, enjoyed bridge, golf, and spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed watching her 2 sons participate in athletics in their high school years. She treasured her time spent with her grandchildren and family. She shared a special bond with her sister, Nita. She is survived by her husband, Robert of Huron; 2 sons, Jeffrey (Lorri) Miller of Pierre, SD, and Scott (Julie) Miller of Flower Mound, TX; 6 grandchildren, Kalee Miller, Shelby Miller, and Madison Miller all of Pierre, and Nichole Warren, Nathan Miller and Neal Miller, all of Flower Mound, TX; her mother, Lucile (Christensen) Dean of Wessington Springs; 1 sister, Nita (Mike) Miller of Huron; 2 brothers, Don (Laura) Christensen of Omaha, NE, and Dennis (Diane) Christensen of Sun City West, AZ; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Jens Christensen.
