Veronica "Tootie" Kauth, age 93, of Huron, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020 at her daughter's home surrounded by her family. Her private family Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Huron with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation, will be from 4-6 PM on Thursday, December 10, 2020 at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Huron. Masks are required. Her funeral service will be live-streamed on the Welter Funeral Home Facebook Page at 10 AM Friday.

Veronica "Tootie" Bernadine Greschke was born on April 16, 1927 in Huron to parents William F. and Elizabeth B. (Palt) Greschke. She attended St. Theresa Parochial School and Huron High School, graduating in 1945. While attending school she worked at the State Theater and Habicht's Store.

Tootie married Kenneth "KO" Kauth on August 20, 1946 in Huron. In later years she worked at Marvin Cleaners, Dr. T.J. Formanack Dental Office and Drs. Richter and Hoffman Dental Office, and the Donut Shoppe.

Tootie was involved in several organizations; Girl Scouts, Catholic Daughters of America, Beadle County Democrats, Beadle County Lady Democrats, city bowling and golf leagues and was a Red Cross volunteer. Tootie was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. She enjoyed sewing, golfing, and baseball and attending her grandchildren's activities.

She is survived by her children, Pam (Stan) Hegg of Huron, Deb (Jerry) Bozentko of Huron, and Kevin (Sherry) Kauth of Rapid City; 7 grandchildren, Jamie Severance, Joe Severance, Kent Bozentko, Adam Bozentko, Kyle Bozentko, Brandon Kauth, and Blake Kauth; 4 great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Severance, Sydnee, Jozie, and Zemi Severance; her sisters-in-law, Margaret Greschke of Huron, Elnora Burdick of Redfield and Joan Kauth of Des Moines; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband KO in 2019; her daughter, Barbara Price in 1989; and brothers and sisters.
