Vernal G. Iky Wipf, age 66, of 552 5th St. NE, Huron, died Thursday, January 25, 2007, at Avera McKennan Hospital at Sioux Falls, SD. His funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 30, at Bethesda Church with Rev. Rick Wolgamott officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call Monday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home or prior to the service at the church Tuesday morning. Vernal G. Wipf was born on April 12, 1940, to Iky and Frieda (Walter) Wipf at Huron, SD. He attended Huron Schools and was employed with Lincoln Auto Salvage for more than 30 years. On December 26, 1990, Iky married Fay Dosch at Las Vegas, NV. Every morning he took his dog out for a car ride. He loved to watch and listen to Gospel music and he enjoyed fishing. He is survived by his wife Fay of Huron; 1 son Steven of Bangor, CA; 2 step-children, Tony (Belinda) French of Garretson, SD and Mary (Marty) Mitchell of Las Vegas, NV, 11 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; his mother, Frieda Waldner of Huron; 1 brother LaWayne (Deb) Wipf of Huron; 1 sister, LaVonne (Charles) Floe of Huron and 9 nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Iky Wipf, mother-in-law, Theresia Dosch and a brother-in-law, Larry Stinehart.
