Todd Gist, age 65, of Huron, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at his home in Huron. A memorial visitation service will be held from 2-4 p.m., on Friday, December 5, 2025 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron with a celebration to continue at Hurst's Corner.

Todd Virgil Gist was born on September 4, 1960 in Farmington, Minnesota to parents Kenneth and Margaret (Northem) Gist.

While attending the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in 1998, Todd and Cindy Jo Olson-Svien were married on August 4 at Bear Butte Campground. This spur of the moment decision led to many years of happiness and adventures. He enjoyed all motorcycles, whether it was Motocross or Harley's. He enjoyed playing bass in his band and spending time with his family and friends. He was kind and quick-witted and will be missed by all who knew him. Todd worked at Dakota Provisions for seventeen years.

He is survived by his wife Cindy of Huron; stepdaughter Mya Svien of Wisconsin; brothers Tim Gist of Kaylor, SD and Chris (Julie) Gist of Lancaster, WI, his beloved dog, Bonnie, and his nuts cat Zoomie.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Susan and stepson Ben Svien.  Special thanks to Joe Reilly, Amy Goethel, and lifelong friends from Minnesota for all your support and friendship.
