Tim was born April 11, 1965 to John and Grace (Honrath) McAloon in Huron, SD. He grew up in Huron, and shared his childhood with his older brother Todd McAloon. From his time at Madison Elementary to graduation from Huron High School, Tim built friendships that would follow him throughout his entire life. While he preferred a tight-knit group over a large crowd, Tim cared for his close friends deeply and was known for being willing to do anything for a friend in need.

Tim is survived by his daughters Nicole McAloon of Sioux Falls, SD, and Alissa McAloon and her partner Robert Russell of Sioux Falls, SD, brother Todd McAloon and his wife Shelly McAloon of Eden Prairie, MN and nieces and nephews Laura (Dillion) Todd, Michael (Adri) McAloon, and Crystal (Don) Overby.

His friends and family fondly remember him as a man who would give the shirt off his back without hesitation. His warm heart, fantastic cooking, and sometimes-goofy personality left a lasting impact on all who knew him, and his presence in our lives will be deeply missed.

Throughout his life, Tim spent his time with computers, working on his '69 Camaro, and cooking. He loved to share his interests with those in his life too, having taught his eldest daughter how to write HTML code and inspiring his youngest daughter to drive manual and to take on his '69 Camaro project later in life.

Tim's love for computers followed him throughout his personal and professional life. For decades, Tim's kitchen table played host to computer parts and tools while he'd repair or build computers for friends, family, or fun. Similarly, Tim worked for Northwestern Public Service for nearly 40 years where he carved out a reputation for being sharp with code and someone that could always be counted on in a pinch.

Food was a huge part of Tim's life and how he shared his love with friends and family. For years, he would help serve reubens for his friends every St. Patrick's Day, and he often found joy in trying out a new recipe or developing a new spin on an existing favorite meal.

Tim's absence will be felt deeply by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
