Thomas Mueller, age 51, of Hitchcock, died Sunday, July 2, 2006 at the Sioux Valley Hospital at Sioux Falls, SD as the result of a stroke. His funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, July 6th at the Hitchcock United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Britton and Rev. Brian Grover officiating. Burial will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home or prior to the service at the church Thursday morning. The family will be present from 7:00 to 9:00 PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home with a Prayer Service at 7:30 PM. Thomas Jay Mueller was born on August 20, 1954, to Harold F. (Beverly L.) Mueller at Mobridge, SD. He moved to Hitchcock with his parents as a young boy. He attended grade school and high school at Hitchcock and graduated from Hitchcock High School in 1972. He lived in the Hitchcock area all his life and was involved in trucking and farming. He was a past member of the First United Methodist Church of Huron. He enjoyed fishing, telling jokes and polishing his truck. He loved little children and animals. He is survived by his parents; 1 sister Kandice (Rick) Boomsma of Hitchcock; 1 brother, Scott (Brenda) Mueller of Hitchcock; 6 nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Layne), Jeff (Tracy), Tim, Jessica, Jacque, and Janelle; 8 grand nieces and nephews, Alex, Ashley, Nate, Jordie, Shanae, Taylor, Boston and Jack; a number of aunts, uncles and cousins; and a special friend, Deanna Kelley. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Casket bearers will be Jeff Boomsma, Tim Boomsma, Alex Styer, Jeb Peterson, Nate Peterson, Shane Peterson, Jordan Peterson and Layne Peterson. Honorary casket bearers will be Randy Jungwirth, Steve Johnson, Gary Kelley, Lance Peterson, Darrell Sheridan, Jeff Fritzsche, Gordy Samelson, Jim Sammons, Roy Buchholz, Jerry Kleinsasser, Gary Venables and all his trucking buddies and friends.
