Thomas McKee, age 59, of Sioux Falls, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at Avantara Norton in Sioux Falls. His Memorial Service, with military honors, will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 6, 2022 at Welter Funeral Home with burial at St. Martin Cemetery in Huron. Memorial visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday.

Thomas Ralph McKee was born on September 28, 1962 in Yankton, South Dakota to parents Vern and Beverly (Bischoff) McKee. Thomas and his family lived in Pierre where he attended school before moving to Watertown where he graduated in 1981. He attended Black Hills State University before joining the United States Army. He served for four years before being honorably discharged. After the army, Thomas worked as a financial advisor.

Thomas loved sports and played tennis in high school. He enjoyed watching football and cheering for the Minnesota Twins. He was a radio DJ for KSDR in Watertown for several years and at various other radio stations. He loved to be with his family and to spend time with his nieces and nephews. A favorite pastime event was pheasant hunting with friends.

He is survived by his siblings, Susan McKee of Sioux Falls, Diane (Buck) Akin of Redfield, William (Jen) McKee of Sioux Falls, and Carol (Mark) Van Ede of Sioux Falls; nieces and nephews, Shelby, Wyatt, Erin, Bevie, Catie, and Molly. Tom is  also survived by 9 cousins and Aunt Judy Walsh and Aunt Carol Tierney,

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vern and Bev McKee, maternal grandparents, Ralph and Catherine Bischoff and paternal grandparents, Bud and Bernita McKee, Uncle Dr. Bill Tierney and Uncle David Lee Bischoff.
