Thelma Tuttle, the daughter of Frank and Helen (Fuhlmann) Tuttle, was born on November 16, 1915 on the family farm eight miles south of Cavour, SD.  She attended country schools until the eighth grade and graduated from Cavour, High School.  After High school Thelma attended the Wessington Springs Junior College where she received her teaching Certificate.  She then taught at the Logan Country School and the Richland Township School.

Thelma married Raymond Voss on June 28, 1939 at Richland Church in Cavour, SD.  In 1945, Raymond was killed in action in Italy during World War II.

The couple moved to Salt Lake City, UT where Thelma worked at the ZCMI Department Store.  They lived there for five years before moving to Washington State for a time.  Raymond was drafted into the U.S. Army during World War II, and Thelma moved to Huron, SD where she has lived since that time.

Thelma worked for Northwestern Public Service, Huron Regional Airport, and the Treasurer's Department.  Thelma enjoyed working with the books at the Treasurer's Department and decided to go back to school for Accounting.  She attended Northwestern College of Commerce and after graduation opened up her own Bookkeeping and Accounting Business until her retirement in 1982.

Thelma was a member of First United Methodist Church in Huron for many years.  She was also a member of United Methodist Women, 8 et 40 Group, GBG Women's guild, and a 50-year member of the American Legion Auxillary.  Thelma enjoyed listening to Sunday morning church on the radio, playing Bridge, and spending time with her family and friends.
