Thedo Duane 'Ted' Hegg, also known as "Sonny", age 76, of rural Woonsocket, died Wednesday, February 16, 2005, at his home. His funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Monday, February 21, at the Welter Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Senner officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery with Military Rites by the American Legion Post #29 of Woonsocket. Friends may call Sunday afternoon and evening and Monday morning until time of service at the Welter Funeral Home. The family will be present from 7:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday evening at the funeral home. Thedo Duane Hegg was born on May 31, 1928, to Thedo Dittloff Hegg and Clara O. (Waldner) Hegg at Huron. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He attended country school in Sanborn County and graduated from Woonsocket High School in 1946. He farmed on the family farm until entering the United States Marine Corps on February 1, 1952. He was honorably discharged on January 31, 1954. He returned home where he continued to farm and raise Hereford cattle. He was a member of the American Legion Post #29 of Woonsocket, South Dakota Trap Shooters, the Alpena Rifle Club, and a past member of the Jackson Township Board. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by 2 brothers, Allen Hegg of Huron, and Dennis (Joanne) Hegg of Mt. Vernon; 1 brother-in-law, Rodney Alexander of Huron; and several nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 sister, Marilyn Alexander; and 1 sister-in-law, Rosie Hegg.
