Terry Larsen, age 73, of Huron, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025 at his home in Huron. A celebration of Terry's life will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Huron with burial to follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation, with his family present, will be from 5-7 p.m., on Friday, April 18, 2025 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron.

Terry was born on May 6, 1951, in Dell Rapids, South Dakota, to Jim and Kitty (Boelens) Larsen. He spent his childhood and formative years in Dell Rapids, graduating from high school in 1969. Following graduation, he moved to Huron, where he attended Huron Community College and pursued a degree in computer programming.
On August 12, 1978, Terry was united in marriage to Kathleen Madsen in Huron. Together they built a life grounded in love, faith, and devotion to family.
During the first half of his career, Terry worked in equipment manufacturing before transitioning to a long and successful tenure with the railroad. He served as a locomotive conductor for 25 years, building a strong and steady career prior to his retirement. Known for his strong work ethic and steady demeanor, he was a respected colleague and valued employee.
A man of deep faith, Terry was an active member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. He was often seen sharing thoughtful wisdom and offering his daily devotions to those around him. His quiet leadership and spiritual strength were a source of comfort and inspiration within the church community.
Terry had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. During the winter months, he enjoyed snowmobiling, and as the seasons changed, he spent his time pursuing his passion for firearms and reloading ammunition.
Terry took immense pride in being present in the lives of his children and grandchildren. Whether attending their events, offering guidance, or simply enjoying their company, his presence was a cornerstone of their lives. He also remained deeply involved in the broader community, always ready to lend a helping hand.
He will be remembered for his unwavering faith, gentle nature, and steadfast love for his family.
Terry is survived by his three sons, Jason Kirton, Todd (Tanna) Kirton and Brent (Nicole) Larsen; seven grandchildren, Samantha Kirton, John Kirton, Daniel Kirton, Trenton Hernandez, Byron Hernandez, Gracie Larsen, and Madisen Larsen; great-grandchildren Brantley Howell and Parker Layne Hernandez. He was preceded in death by his wife Kathy Larsen and his parents.
