Susie Waldner, age 74 passed away at her home on the Riverside Colony in Huron, SD.  Her visitation will be on Sunday, November 15, at the Riverside Colony.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 PM on Monday, November 16, 2020 at the Riverside Colony with burial at the Riverside Colony Cemetery.

Susie J. Waldner was born to Sam and Susanna Wipf on April16, 1946 at the Tschetter Colony near Tabor, SD.  She left the Tschetter Colony at the age of 4 and  moved to Graceville Colony where she grew up.

Susie married John Waldner on September 14, 1969.  They shared 51 years together at Riverside Colony.  Susie served as Essenshul Ankela' for 9 years from 1971- 1980.  Two years later she became head cook and served from 1982-2014.

Susie loved reading, singing, and especially flowers.  She had a large flower garden until she became too sick to care for it.  But what Susie loved most was spending time with her family and friends.  Her grandchildren would drop in often and she treasured the time she spent with them.

Susie's faith in God was the most important thing in her life.  She never stopped leaning on Him and praising Him.  During her seven year battle with cancer, God was her rock.

Susie went home to be with her Lord surrounded by her family and friends on November 13, 2020 She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Grateful for having shared in Susie's life are her husband, John; son, Philip (Sharon), daughters, Lillian and Ramona; Grandchildren, John, Joshua, Josiah, Adam, Sharika, Kara, Rebecca, and Aleah; brothers, Minister Sam (Alma), Joseph (Margaret), Michael (Rachel), and David; sisters, Mary (Minister Joseph), Betty (Sam), Esther (Ernest), and Judith

Susie was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Susanna; her sister Leah; her brothers-in-law, Joseph and Ernest; mother-in-law, Mary, and father-in-law, Sam.
