Susan F. Demmers, age 79, passed away at Avantara in Huron on December 14, 2024. Her visitation with family present will be at 5-7 p.m., on Friday, December 27, 2024 at Welter Funeral Home with a Memorial Service beginning at 6:30 p.m. Susan and Donald will be buried together at a later date.

Susan was born May 13, 1945 in Huron, South Dakota, the daughter of Samuel and Virginia (Kittleson) Rossman. She joined a brother James and later a sister Margaret.Susan graduated from Huron High School in 1963. She married Donald Edward Demmers on September 13, 1973, in Huron. Susan and Don resided in Omaha until Don's passing on September 8, 2014. She then moved back to South Dakota where she resided in Sioux Falls for a couple of years before moving back to Huron.

Susan drove the flag car while Don drove semi hauling for Iseman Mobile Home. After their trucking days, Susan assisted customers with their reservations with Hyatt Regency.

Remaining to cherish Susan's memory are her cat, Highway; brother James (Giovanna aka Gigi) Rossman of Monterey, CA; sister Margaret (Dale) Oechsle of Hitchcock, SD; niece and nephews, Sandra (Todd) Chasing Hawk, Philip (Jodi) Oechsle, Steven (Megan Martin) Oechsle, and Jon (Lori) Oechsle; and great nieces and nephews, Wade, Kelsey, Tyler, Briana, Shandi, Payton, Jaidyn, Tana, Micah, Janica, Makayla, and Alayna; and great-great nieces and nephews, Kip, Kora, Callaway, Elijah and Maryann.

Preceding Susan in death are her spouse, Donald Demmers; parents, Samuel and Virginia Rossman; Don's parents, Joseph and Evelyn Demmers; and a great nephew, Clifford Dale Chasing Hawk.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations.
