Sue Anne Brown, age 79, of Huron, SD passed away Sunday, March 16th, 2025 at Avera McKennan hospital in Sioux Falls after a short battle with cancer.

Sue was born to Florence (Hink) and Eugene Fahey on January 28th, 1946 in Huron. She attended Huron High School until the birth of her daughter Denise and son Jeff. She completed her education after relocating to Aberdeen with her children.

Sue worked in various insurance roles across Aberdeen, Rapid City, and Brookings throughout her career before retiring back to Huron.

Sue had many passions in life. She enjoyed playing bridge and cards, solving sudoku puzzles, reading, working on jigsaw puzzles, sewing costumes and doll clothes for her beloved granddaughter Nikki, as well as other arts and crafts projects. Sue was an active participant in the scouting programs alongside her children, and she cherished spending time with her family, especially during the holidays. Sue had many cherished pets over the years, who brought her great joy and companionship.

She is survived by her son Jeff Brown of Scotts Valley, CA; granddaughter Nikki Brown of Denver, CO; one brother Tom (Cindy) Fahey, one sister Nancy Van Doren; and brother-in-law Larry Rasmussen. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Denise Brown; her parents; sister Alice Rasmussen; niece Jane Rasmussen; nephew Bill Van Doren; and sister-in-law Jan Fahey.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to your local humane society in Sue's memory. No services are planned at this time.
