Steven Moldrem, age 57, of Mt Vernon and formerly of Huron, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at the Avera Heart Hospital of South Dakota in Sioux Falls. His funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 22nd at American Lutheran Church with Rev. Rick Senner officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery with Military Rites by the Huron Veterans Council. Friends may call Friday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home or Saturday morning prior to the service at the church. The family will be present from 7:00 to 8:00 PM Friday evening at the funeral home. Steven Craig Moldrem was born on January 28, 1949, to Harold and Margaret (Bonnes) Moldrem at Huron. He attended school at Huron and in 1968 he enlisted in the United States Army and served until December 27, 1968. On September 26, 1966, Steve married Kathy Ann Ferguson at the American Lutheran Church at Huron. He was employed with Dakota Welding in Huron, was a Brown County Deputy Sheriff, Arlington City Police Department, Steves Radiator Shop in Miller and currently employed at Hydro Scape in Mitchell. He was a member of William Reaves American Legion Post #7 and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and photography. He is survived by 1 daughter, Michele (Gary Johnson) Moldrem of Watertown; 1 son, Todd (Teri) Moldrem of Oshkosh, WI; 2 grandchildren, Dylan and Lexi Moldrem; his girlfriend, Shirley London and her family of Mt. Vernon; 3 brothers, Larry Moldrem, Dennis Moldrem (Kathy Roti), and Melvin Moldrem all of Huron; 1 sister, Debra (Bill) Otter of Lawler, IA; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his father Lawrence Rush and grandparents. Casket bearers will be Dave Davidson, Henry Klich, Robbie Moldrem, Dale Frank, Dave Ferguson and Nick Ferguson.
