Obituary
Steven Harley Bown, 58, of Huron, passed away peacefully Sunday, August 26, 2018 at home surrounded by family and staff. A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, September 8, at the Huron Campus Center, 333 9th Street SW in Huron. Refreshments will follow.
Steve was born September 7, 1959 in Gettysburg, SD to Marion (Buck) and Alma Bown. He grew up on the family farm until 1965 when the family moved to Aberdeen. In the 1970's, he moved with his parents to Mobridge, SD where he resided until the death of his mother in 1999. Steve then entered a group home in Lemmon, SD. In November 2010, he moved to Huron to be close to family. 1030 House of the Center for Independence became his home for the next 8 years. Despite Steve's challenges in life, he was generally upbeat and cheerful.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents and brother David. He is survived by his sisters, Carol (Ron) Passmore and Nola (Bob) Spoerl. The family thanks the staff at 1030.
