Star E. Jones, age 64 of Huron, SD passed away on Sunday August 26, 2018 at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.

Her funeral service will be 11:00 am Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron with burial at the Riverside Cemetery in Huron.

Visitation, with the family present, will be from 5-7 pm Wednesday, August 29 at the Welter Funeral Home; or one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday

Star E. Ericksen, the daughter of Herbert and Pauline (Neitzert) Ericksen, was born on January 18, 1954 in Huron, SD.  She attended school and graduated from Huron High School in 1972.  Star also received an Associates of Arts Degree in Business from the Northwest College of Commerce in Huron, SD.  Star worked as an office secretary for several businesses including, Magness Livestock, Concrete Products, A and M Radio, Sioux Falls Family Vision and the Huron Eye Clinic until her illness forced her to retire in 2018

Star married Merele Jones on September 12, 2008 at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Huron, SD.

Star was a member of the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron, SD.  She was also a member of the Manford Music Women's Bowling Team.  Star loved bowling, gardening, playing cards, and playing the organ.  Star enjoyed spending time with her family especially her two grandsons and going to their baseball games.  She also enjoyed traveling and going on road trips with Merele in his truck.

Grateful for having shared in Star's life are her husband, Merele Jones of Huron, SD; daughter Dawn (Chad) Hvam of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren Camden and Cayden; cousin Linda Erling and many other cousins; and her Godmother, Betty Heisel

Star was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Pauline.
