Shelley Palmer, age 46, of Huron, SD, died Sunday, March 7, 2010, at her home.
Her funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 11, at Calvary Baptist Church with burial at Ideal Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 1-8 p.m. at Welter Funeral Home with family present from 6-8 p.m.; or Thursday morning one hour prior to the service at the church.
Shelley Palmer was born Shelley Dee McNutt, daughter of Wayne and Helen (Ferguson) McNutt, on October 30, 1963, in Huron, SD. She was baptized at American Lutheran Church. She attended elementary school and high school in Huron.
Following completion of her education she worked at various job in the Huron area. For a brief period of time Shelley commuted to work at the Redfield State School, and also to Clark where she worked for McCains Potato factory. She returned to Huron in the late 1980s and worked for Midcom.
On October 7, 1999, Shelley married Lanny Palmer in Huron.
She was a past member of American Lutheran Church; and a present member of Calvary Baptist Church since 2006.
Shelley loved the times that she could spend with her children. She also loved to barter so her many interests included rummage sales, Salvation Army Store, and anywhere that Shelley could get a deal. She enjoyed watching Deal or No Deal and Extreme Makeover on television.
She is survived by her husband, Lanny of Huron; 2 sons, Gavin Palmer of Huron, and Alan Palmer of Huron; 2 step-children, Rob (Cheri) Palmer of Mandan, ND, and Angel (Jeff) Paul of Mandan, ND; 5 step-grandchildren, Laykin Palmer, Brenden Palmer, Jenna Palmer, Tye Paul, and Kaia Paul; 8 brothers and sisters, Carol (Bob) Schlim of Huron, Tom (Sandra) McNutt of Huron, Mike (Sandy) McNutt of Huron, Dianne Palmer of Rockford, IL, Gloria (Terry) Paye of Huron, Rhonda (Bob) Stanfield of Doland, Julie (Kevin) Labrie of Huron, and Marsha (Gene Weinreis) Jenson of Doland.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a baby daughter, Melanie.
