Sharon Nelson, age 73, of Huron, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron. Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, May 8, 2025 at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Huron with burial to follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Huron. Visitation will be one hour prior to the church on Thursday morning.

Sharon Rose Nelson was born on March 27, 1952, to parents Leo George and Eleanor Erma (Hilton) Nelson in Huron. Sharon attended Huron schools, earning her GED later in life.

Sharon was always a hard worker and enjoyed working at the Traveler's Hotel, St. John's Hospital, Redfield State Hospital and St. Paul Society of the Blind. She enjoyed making jewelry, reading books, crafting and cooking and baking for her friends and brother.

She was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

She is survived by her brother, Tim (Brenda Knouse) Nelson of Huron; her sisters-in-law, Mary Nelson and Penny Pernu, both of Minnesota; and many cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Donald Nelson, Dan Nelson, George Nelson, Leo Nelson, Jimmy Kivimaki; sister-in-law Kathy Nelson; and her significant other Richard Lyon.
