Sarah M. Gross, age 97, of Huron, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2023 at Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron. Her Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Altoona Cemetery in Hitchcock.

Sarah Marie Gross was born on January 8, 1926 to parents Joseph and Katie Gross. She grew up on the family farm, attending country school. Sarah earned her teacher's certificate and began her life-long teaching career. She taught in a one room schoolhouse in Timber Lake, South Dakota for much of her career. After she retired, she returned to Huron. She loved to travel on bus tours. Sarah moved to SunQuest Village where she met her friend Sara Jo. Always a teacher and worker, Sarah enjoyed attending all the activities and was always a helping hand wherever she could be.

Sarah will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her special friend, Sara Jo Newman and her family. She was preceded by her parents, her brothers Jim and Ole and a sister and brother in infancy.
