Sandra Urban, age 71, of Huron died March 24, 2015 at her home in Huron. Her memorial service will be 10:30 am Saturday, March 28, 2015 at American Lutheran Church in Huron with burial in Restlawn Memory Gardens. Memorial visitation with family present will be 5-7 pm Friday, March 27, 2015 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron with a prayer service at 6 pm; or one hour prior to the service at the church. Sandra Jean Urban was born on October 15, 1943 in Willow Lake, South Dakota to Forrest and Marcella (Seefeldt) Bratland. She attended Aaker Country School before graduating from Willow Lake High School in 1961. Sandra then moved to Huron and attended Northwest College of Commerce and earned her Associate's Degree. Sandra married Arnold Nelson in Willow Lake in August of 1963. The couple later divorced and she married Clyde Urban in October of 1973. Sandra began her career as a Secretary for the Department of Social Services in January of 1962, where she worked for the next 43 years, until her retirement in April of 2005. Sandra was a very active member of American Lutheran Church, were she enjoyed her work on the Funeral Lunch Committee and in the Quilting Club. Sandra enjoyed taking many trips with her family and friends once she was retired. Her hobbies were knitting, crocheting, quilting, bowling, and doing word find puzzles. Sandra was also an avid NASCAR fan. She was always quoting driver stats to her family and even attended at race at the Las Vegas Speedway. Sandra is survived by her daughter, Leah (Robert) Suhr of Mitchell; four grandchildren, Cody (Caurel) Starzl of Campton, New Hampshire, Kayla Starzl of Yankton, Cassandra Starzl of Mitchell, Katie (Joey) Score of Mitchell; three great grandchildren, Aiden, Alexis, and Aubree; one brother, Odean Bratland of Bonita Springs, FL; two sisters, Marcia McGraw of Redfield, Jennette Kuca of Sioux Falls; several nieces and nephews. Sandra was preceded in death by her mother and father.
