Sam Waldner, age 92, of Shamrock Colony passed away on Monday, May 18, 2015 at his home. His funeral will be 2:30 pm Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at Shamrock Colony with burial in Shamrock Cemetery. Visitation will start at 3 pm Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Shamrock Colony. Sam J. Waldner was born on February 2, 1923 to John and Anna (Glanzer) Waldner in Manitoba, Canada. On May 4 1950 Sam married Katie Wollman at Huron Colony. They were blessed with 53 years of married life. Grandpa lost his loving wife on May 6, 2003. In his earlier years, Sam served his community as a Colony Manager. He was dearly loved by numerous friends and family. He will be greatly missed. Grandpa was very grateful to his daughter, his granddaughters, and sister-in-laws who helped him. He was especially thankful for his grandson, Clifford who spent his evenings keeping him company and helping him with whatever was needed. Left to mourn are his six sons and one daughter; Ted (Matilda) of Shamrock Colony, Hilda (Alvin) of Hutterville Colony, Alvin (Mary Ann) of Shamrock Colony, Ronnie (Becky) of Pennsylvania, Samuel (Magdalene) of Shamrock Colony, Steve (Lydia) of Shamrock Colony; 38 grandkids and 47 great grandkids; many nieces and nephews. Sam was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Katie Waldner; his eight brothers; nine sisters; two grandsons, Titus Waldner and Darwin Waldner. Sam died on May 18, 2015 in his home at Shamrock Colony at the age of 92 years, 3 months, and 16 days.
