Ruth A.  Krutzfeldt, age 92, of Huron formerly of Alpena, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2019.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 PM Friday, September 6, 2019 at the Virgil United Methodist Church with a burial at the Virgil Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Thursday September 5 at Welter Funeral Home; or one hour prior to service at the Church.

Ruth Alice Paye was born on May 24, 1927 in rural Cavour, SD, to Horace and Hilda (Broderson) Paye.  She attended the Pearl Creek County School "Anderson School" near Cavour, SD.  Ruth married Clarence Krutzfeldt on September 23, 1950 at the 1 ^st Methodist Church in Huron and they were married for 60 years.  Ruth and Clarence lived and worked on their farm outside Virgil until moving to Huron, SD. Ruth enjoyed spending her life as a farmwife, mother, and grandmother.

Ruth was a member of the Virgil United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for 35 years. Ruth loved living on the farm. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and raising chickens for eggs and meat and was the supplier for most of her neighbors and friends. Family and friends were very important to Ruth and she spoke lovingly of them often.

Grateful for having shared in Ruth's life are her daughter, Susan Krutzfeldt Miller of Sturgis, SD; and granddaughter, Alicia (Jeffrey) Krutzfeldt Craig of Walford, IA; sister, Betty Patridge of California; and sister-in-law, Maxine Paye of Huron, SD; and many nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence in 2010; an infant grandson; three brothers: Roy, Bud, and Leonard Paye; brother and sister-in-law, Windy and Maxine Krutzfeldt; sisters-in-law, Dorothy and Mildred Paye; brother-in-law, Max Patridge; and nephew, Michael Paye.
