Ruth E. Jobbins, age 96, of Sioux Falls and formerly of Huron died Saturday, December 11, 2004, at the Sioux Valley Hospital at Sioux Falls. Her funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 18, at the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Tom Brantner officiating. Burial will be at Ideal Cemetery. Friends may call Friday afternoon and evening or Saturday morning at the Welter Funeral Home or prior to the service at the church Saturday afternoon. Ruth Jobbins was born Ruth Esther Smith on August 6, 1908, to Alfred and Mary (Larsen) Smith at Clark, SD. She attended school at Clark and then moved to Huron and later Sioux Falls. In June of 1949, Ruth married Ray Dinsmore Jobbins. She was employed with Armours and Company for 16 years and Eilers Furs for 10 years. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church for 56 years and was very active in her church. Her hobbies were painting, gardening and decorating cakes. She is survived by her children, Dennis (Clara) Harmon of Huron, Dean (Marjorie) Harmon of Huron, and Lauralea Slaughter of Sioux Falls; two daughters-in-law, Betty Harmon of Maple Plain, MN, and Irma Harmon of De Smet; 28 grandchildren; many great and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband; two sons, Darrell Harmon and Donald Harmon; a granddaughter, Ruth Harmon; a grandson, Gene Allen Harmon; a great grandson, Robert Bobby Ganske; her parents; one sister, Laura Iverson; and one brother, Lee Smith.
