Ruth Housman Dake, age 89, of Long Beach, CA, died Monday, June 30, 2008, at her home in Long Beach. Burial of her cremated remains will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 26, at St. Martin Cemetery in Huron. There will be no visitation. Ruth Housman was born on May 30, 1919, in Huron, SD, to Roy and Agnes (Schleder) Housman. She married Lloyd C. Dake in 1938 and they later moved to Rapid City, SD, where they raised their son, Terry. In 1963, she and Lloyd moved to Garden Grove, CA, where they both worked for North American Rockwell on the Apollo space program. She is survived by her son, Major General Terrance L. Dake, USAF (retired) and his wife, Patti of Santa Monica, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd C. Dake; her brother, Raymond Housman; 2 sisters, Marie Housman Woytasik, and Jeanne Housman Spiller.
