Rueben Allerdings, age 91, of Huron, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at his daughter's home in Brookings, SD under hospice care. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023 from 12-1 PM at Welter Funeral Home in Huron.

Rueben Albert Allerdings was born on October 25, 1932 in Gettysburg, South Dakota to parents George and Barbara (Spitzer) Allerdings. Rueben served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1955.

Rueben married Delores Hinkley in St. Lawrence, SD on October 8, 1965. They made their home in Huron where Rueben worked in Huron Tank and Culvert for 38 years. In his free time, Rueben enjoyed watching car races on television, and going to stock car races in Miller and Huron.

He is survived by his wife, Delores of Huron; his children, Kevin Allerdings of Huron, Jolene (Jose, Jr.) Bustamante of Portales, NM, and Ranae (Balaji) Naidu of Brookings; 10 grandchildren; his brother, Harold (Mag) Allerdings of Eden Prairie, MN; and his sisters-in-law, Edith Allerdings and Gladys Allerdings; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Mark and infant son Travis; six brothers, Art F., Art G., Edwin, Marvin, Leo, and Leslie; and four sisters, Erna, Edna, Lydia, and Otilia.
