Ruben W. Pullman, age 95, of Huron, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at his home in Huron. His funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery and Military Honors conducted by the Huron Veteran's Council. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Ruben William Pullman was born on October 2, 1926 to parents Joseph and Susie (Gross) Pullman in Clark County and grew up in Carpenter, South Dakota. He attended country schools and farmed with his father. On November 24, 1945, he joined the United States Army and served as a Medic in Okinawa. He was honorably discharged on December 28, 1946. Ruben returned home and started work at Armour Packing Plant. He retired in 1985. He also worked for 2 years at Case.

Ruben married Darlene Kleindl on November 11, 1950 in Huron. To this marriage, 5 children were born, Carol, Jean, May, Doug, and Wayne.

In his spare time, Ruben enjoyed wood working, camping, playing cards, reading, and watching television. Spending time with family and friends was also very important to him.

Grateful for having shared in his life is his wife, Darlene; children, Carol Tschetter, Jean (Gary Heath) Pullman, all of Huron and May (Tom) McMillan of Garden City, SD; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his two sons, Doug and Wayne; 2 great-grandsons, Dylan and Matthew Erickson; four sisters, three brothers, and sisters and brothers-in-law; and daughter-in-law, Jeanette.
