Ruben Glanzer passed away unexpectedly on March 16, 2025. He leaves behind his family, lots of friends and relatives and a whole community who will be lost without him.

Ruben was born to Andrew and Rachel Glanzer on August 8, 1952, the fourth child in a family of eleven. He served Hillside in numerous ways: carpenter, German School Teacher, Farm Boss and his final job was Haushalter, which he served until his passing. He will forever be missed and remembered.

Ruben was a hardworking person and was not afraid to step in where he was needed.

He married Susanna Waldner on April 20, 1975 and to this union were born four children. After Susanna passed away in 2001, he married Elizabeth Wipf with whom he shared nineteen years.

Ruben was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Rachel Glanzer of Hillside; parents-in-law Andrew and Annie Waldner of Maple River; wives Susanna and Elizabeth; brothers Andrew and Timothy; sister Magdelena; brother-in-law Alvin Wipf.

Ruben was a person who never met a stranger. He was a friend to many and his door was open to all. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren. He was a person who enjoyed everything connected to the outdoors, especially working the land.
