Roy Schoenwetter, age 54, of Huron died Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron. His funeral will be 10:30 am Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Welter Funeral Home with burial in Riverside Cemetery with military honors provided by the Huron Veterans Council. Visitation with family present will be from 5-8 pm Friday, December 21, 2012 at Welter Funeral Home; or one hour prior to the service. Roy Donald Schoenwetter was born on July 25, 1958 in Watertown, SD to Melvin and Lucile (DeWall) Schoenwetter. He attended St. Martin's Lutheran School until he moved with his family to Huron in 1974, where he attained his GED. He joined the Army and was stationed Missouri. Roy worked at many places including Dakota Pork for 15 years, Karl's for 5 years and lastly Dakotaland Feeds, were Roy worked until he was force to quit due to health reasons last April. Roy also helped in the family house moving business. Roy married his longtime friend and companion, Wanda Kientoff, on May 1, 2009 in Huron. Roy enjoyed many things including fishing, gardening, working with cars, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Roy is survived by his mother, Lucile Schoenwetter of Flandreau; his loving wife, Wanda Schoenwetter of Huron; children, James (Kristi) Shoultz of Huron, Michealle Ransom (Robbie Klanchnik) of Huron, Sheena (Derek Kramer) Schoenwetter of Huron, Tiffany Kientoff of Huron, and Brandy Kientoff of Woonsocket; nine grandchildren, Rage, Zeplin, Kailee, Ericka, Thomas, Kingston, Elijah, Angel, and James Jr.; brothers, Irvin Schoenwetter of Flandreau, SD, Marvin Schoenwetter of Flandreau, SD, John Schoenwetter of Spirit Lake, IA; sister, Cindy Rodriguez of Spirit Lake, IA; several nieces and nephews. Roy was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Schoenwetter in 1987, a sister, Ruth Ann Schoenwetter and two brothers, Robert and Craig Schoenwetter.
