Rosita Torres, age 62, of Huron died Monday, November 16, 2015 at Huron Regional Medical Center in Huron.
Her funeral will be 10:30 am Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Welter Funeral Home in Huron with burial in Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation with family present will be from 5-7 pm Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Welter Funeral Home; or one hour prior to the service.
Rosita S. Torres was born on March 2, 1953 in Uvalde, Texas to Raul and Celia (Cuellar) Saldana. As the oldest daughter of migrant workers, she moved constantly with her family around the country following the harvest and attended many schools around the country.
Rosita married Pablo Torres on June 23, 1973 in Torrington, Wyoming where they were both working the sugar beet harvest. The couple then moved to Green Bay, Wisconsin for several years before they moved to Huron in 1981. Rosita worked in many restaurants in the community including; Bale's Chuck Wagon, Seniora Della's, The Plains, Happy Chef, and Country Kitchen. She retired due to a health reason in 2000.
Rosita enjoyed bingo, cooking, shopping, entertaining people at her house, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was liked to follow the Green Bay Packers. Pablo and Rosita also enjoyed traveling, taking camping trips almost every year.
Rosita is survived by her husband of 42 years, Pablo Torres of Huron; four children, Romana (Angel) Olivo of Huron, Jaime (Kylea) Torres of Jamestown, ND, Pablito (Rachel) Torres of Huron, Roberto Torres of Huron; 9 grandchildren; her mother, Celia Saldana of Green Bay, WI; three brothers, Rueben (Mary) Saldana of Green Bay, WI, Joe Saldana of Green Bay, WI, Frank (Lynn) Saldana of Denmark, WI; two sisters, Oralia Saldana of Green Bay, WI, Amelia (Ramiro) Varela of Alabama; many nieces and nephews.
Rosita was preceded in death by her father, Raul in August of 2000.
