Rosemary Mason, age 73, of Huron, SD, died Monday, February 22, 2010, at Huron Regional Medical Center.

Her memorial service will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, February 26, at Welter Funeral Home with her family present from 5-8 p.m. Friday.

Rosemary Mason was born Rosemary C. Cook, daughter of Wesley and Twila (Bradley) Cook, on July 13, 1936, in ONeill, NE. She graduated from high school in 1943, then attended and graduated in 1945 as an English teacher from Wayne State College in Wayne, NE. She taught for several years.

Rosemary married Norman Mason and they lived together in Huron until the time that she entered the nursing home in 2006.

In addition to her years as a teacher, Rosemary worked as a bookkeeper for her husbands business, Masons Provisions, for many years. She spent hours working in her garden and yard, loved reading, and spending time with her family and friends.

Rosemary is survived by her husband, Norman of Huron; 3 daughters, Sheryl (Blair) Meyers of Huron, Pamela Ochsner of Huron, and Susan (Gary) Bougger of Columbus, NE; 7 grandchildren, Melinda, Scott, Andy, Allison, Adam, Tye, and Katie; 4 great grandchildren; 7 brothers, Harley (Janet) Cook of Hollywood, MD, Lynn Cook of Albany, GA, Lyle (Joyce) Cook of Coleridge, NE, Jerry Cook of Ft. Washington, MD, Russell (Jackie) Cook of Canby, MN, Daniel Cook of Yale, SD, and Dale (Connie) Cook of Sioux City, IA; 1 sister, Bonnie (Butch) Jaqua of Sioux City, IA; 1 sister-in-law, Marlyce Cook of Sioux City, IA; and many, many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Twila; 1 son, David Mason; 2 brothers, Larry Cook and Bruce Cook.
