Obituary

Roseann Jane Lynch, age 76, of 50 7th Street SE, Huron, died on Thursday, June 11, 2009, at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home in Huron, SD.

Her Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 15, 2009, at St. Pauls Catholic Church in Iroquois, SD, with burial at the St. Patrick Cemetery in Cavour, SD.

Visitation will be Sunday from 1-8 p.m. at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron, with the family present at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, with a rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m.; or one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Roseann Lynch, the daughter of Frank and Anna (McFetridge) Lynch, was born on January 28, 1933, in Canova, SD. She attended school and graduated from Iroquois High School. Roseann spent many years on the family farm taking care of her parents. Roseann also worked as a cook for the Huron College, and the Lips Dining Center in Miller, SD, as well as other restaurants in Presho, SD, and Huron, SD, for many years.

Roseann was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church in Cavour, and St. Anns Parish in Miller, with her last church being Holy Trinity Catholic Parish in Huron. Roseann was very proud of her Catholic faith, her Irish heritage, and her family. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, and collecting recipe books. Spending time with her family and friends was one of her greatest joys.

Grateful for having shared her life are her nephews: Jim (Sandy) and Emily Lynch, Iroquois, SD; nephew, William Lynch, Pierre, SD; her nieces, Rita (Bob) Hunt, Frankfort, SD; Mary Lynch, Pierre, SD; and Ann Cook, Kingston, MO; Lucille Mallard and Maryjean Callahan, both of Antioch, CA; nephew, John (Peggy) Cyphert, Huron, SD; brother-in-law, Kyle Stall; and many great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Roseann was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers: James, Albert, and Robert Lynch; infant brother, Bernard Lynch; and sister, Mary Stall; nephews Albert Lynch Jr. and Bernard Stall; great-nephew, Bradley Wollman; and sisters-in-law, Retha and Elizabeth Lynch.
