Rose Beck, age 102, of 50 7th St. SE, and formerly of 1818 Arizona Ave. SW, Huron, died Wednesday, August 24, 2005, at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home. Her funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM Monday, August 29, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Joe Holzhauser officiating. Burial will be at St. Martin Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home or prior to the Mass at the church Monday morning. Rose Anna Marie Wagner was born on October 24, 1902, to Albert and Helene (Hasker) Wagner on a farm near Alpena, SD. She attended country school near Alpena. On April 4, 1934, Rose married John Stub Beck at St. Martin Catholic Church in Huron. They lived for a few years in Huron prior to moving to a farm southwest of Huron where they lived until 1974 when they retired and moved back into Huron. After the death of her husband, Rose lived with her daughter and son-in-law in Atlanta, TX, and Powell, WY, returning to Huron in 2001. She became a resident of the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home in February of 2005. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish and Altar Society, and the A.N.W. Ladies Club. She is survived by 1 daughter, Vivadel Vi (Herb) Dooley of Cavour; 4 grandchildren, Jerry (Penny) Dooley of Huron, Vern Dooley of Powell, WY, Patricia (Duke) Westerberg of Philip, SD, and Scott (Deb) Dooley of Longmont, CO; 9 great grandchildren, Nicole (James) Blazevich, Brandon Dooley, Shannon (Jeremy) Lusk, Travis Dooley, Trevor Dooley, Jason Westerberg, Brittany Westerberg, Michael Westerberg, and Theresa Dooley; 1 great great grandson, Andrew Blazevich; 2 sisters, Loretta Christensen of Huron, and Cecelia Marken of Manly, IA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Stub in 1986; 2 sisters, Katie Lucklum, and Anna Christensen; and 5 brothers, Edward, Grover, Woodrow, George, and Paul Wagner.
