Rose E. Glanzer, 103, Huron, SD, died Friday, April 29, 2016 at SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron.

Visitation for Rose will be 5-7 PM, Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Welter Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Bethesda Church of Huron.  Interment will follow at Restlawn Memory Gardens.

Rose was born May 21, 1912 near Yale, SD to Paul and Mary (Hofer) Glanzer.  She was raised in the Yale area, where she attended school, before going to Hitchcock High School for one year, where she graduated.  Rose then attended Huron College, where she obtained a Bachelor's degree.  She began a 36-year career in education teaching ten years in the Yale area, 10 years in Platte and 16 years at the Pierre Junior High School.

After retirement Rose did a lot of volunteer work, receiving the Lusk Award for Volunteerism in Education in 1999.  She also enjoyed traveling in retirement.

Survivors include a brother, Miller Glanzer; a sister, Laurene Wood; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; and four sisters.
