Rosanne Marie Schroeder, age 66, of Huron, SD, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2013, at the Sanford (USD) Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Her funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2013, at the American Lutheran Church in Huron with burial at the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery, Huron. Visitation with family present will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2013, at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron; or one hour prior to the service at the Church on Tuesday. Rosanne Marie Rasmussen, the daughter of Hans and Ruth (Braaten) Rasmussen, was born on January 28, 1947, in Watertown, SD. Rosanne attended school and graduated from Huron High School in 1966. Rosanne worked as an assembler and group leader for Wilbrecht Manufacturing for 32 years before retiring in January of 2013, and as a waitress at the American Legion in Huron for 18 years. Rosanne married Leon Schroeder on September 16, 1967, at the American Lutheran Church in Huron. The couple made their home in Huron. Rosanne was a member of the American Lutheran Church and the Red Hats. She enjoyed playing cards, going out to lunch with her friends, and taking care of her "Grandpuppies". Rosanne's family was very special to her and she enjoyed spending time with them and making Sunday supper for them to enjoy. Grateful for having shared in Rosanne's life are her husband, Leon of Huron, SD; son, Scott Schroeder of Huron, SD; Scott's special friend, Kelly Haines and her daughters, Katie and Shaylee; daughter, Angie Schroeder of Huron, SD; honorary daughter, Shelly Fuller of Huron, SD; brother, Larry Rasmussen of Huron, SD; and nieces and nephews. Rosanne was preceded in death by her grandparents; parents; brother, Robert Rasmussen; sister, Penny Rasmussen; sister-in-law, Alice Rasmussen; and brother-in-law, Allen Schroeder.
