Rosalie M. Keelin, age 88, of 1251 Arizona Ave SW, and formerly of 1181 Utah Ave SE, Huron, died Sunday, June 20, 2004, at the Huron Nursing Home. Her funeral mass will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 23, at the Church of the Resurrection with Father Jim Zimmer officiating. Burial will be at St. Martin Cemetery. Friends may call this Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home or Wednesday morning prior to the mass at the church. There will be a Scripture Service at 7:00 PM this Tuesday evening followed by a Catholic Daughters Rosary at the Welter Funeral Home. Rosalie M. Keelin was born Rosalie M. Baye on November 13, 1915, to Sylvan J. and Helen (Erdman) Baye at Webster, SD. She moved with her family to Philip, SD, around 1920. Rosalie attended Jones Country School and graduated from Philip High School. She then attended and graduated from Columbus College (now the Royal C. Johnson Veterans Hospital) in Sioux Falls. Rosalie taught country school in Beadle County for 3 years. On June 30, 1936, Rosalie married Earl E. Keelin at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Philip. After their marriage, the couple made their home at Huron. She was a helper and a bookkeeper for her husband in their business, Keelin Auto Glass. Rosalie was a member of St. Martin Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, and Belles and Beaus Square Dance Club for 40 years. She is survived by 1 daughter, Rita (Wayne) Nelson of Sioux Falls; 1 son, Donald (Mary Lee) Keelin of Fargo, ND; 1 daughter-in-law, Terry Keelin of Idyllwild, CA; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Alfred (Eileen) Baye of Albuquerque, NM, and Edmund Baye of Philip; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl on February 15, 2002; 1 son, Lawrence Larry Keelin; 1 grandson, Mark Neslon; 1 brother; and 1 sister.
