Ronald Schultz, age 68, of 966 9th St. SW, Huron, died Friday, March 18, 2005, at the Huron Regional Medical Center. His graveside rites will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday, March 22, at Restlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum with Rev. Richard Rinearson officiating. Entombment will be at Restlawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum with Military Rites by the Huron Veterans Council. Friends may call Monday afternoon and evening at the Welter Funeral Home. Ronald Leroy Schultz was born on July 21, 1936, to Arthur and Irene (Sorenson) Schultz at Huron, SD. He attended country school southeast of Huron and graduated from Huron High School in 1954. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He returned to Huron after his honorable discharge and worked with his father as a painting contractor. On March 9, 1958, Ron married Barbara Abramson at Broadland, SD. Ron continued to work with his father, eventually taking over the business after his fathers retirement. Ron retired in 1998. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and the William Reaves American Legion Post #7 of Huron. His many interests included hunting, fishing, yard work, the family dogs, watching football on television, and attending local high school and college basketball games. He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Huron; 1 daughter, Annett Nelson of Huron; 1 son, Michael (Kimann) Schultz of Indianapolis, IN; 3 grandchildren, Hannah Schultz, Tim VonEye and fiance Brooke Basinger, and Amy (Cameron) Boyd; 2 great grandchildren, Ellie VonEye, and Morgan Boyd; and 1 sister, Mary Argus of Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 1 brother-in-law, Dave Argus.
