Rodney Sprague, age 59, of Huron, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at his home in Huron. A Memorial Visitation will be from 4-6 PM on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Welter Funeral Home with a prayer service to begin at 6 PM.

Rodney LeRoy Sprague was born on June 18, 1962 to parents Milford and Janice (Ringheimer) Sprague in Huron, South Dakota. Rodney attended Huron schools, graduating from Huron High School. He then graduated from Lake Area Vo-Tech in Watertown.  Rodney also served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged.

Rod worked at Dakota Provisions and DaPro in maintenance as well as for Ricky Timm on the farm in Wolsey. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He loved his dogs. Rod cheered for the Green Bay Packers and enjoyed spending time with his family including his nieces and nephews. Rod was a talented mechanic and handyman.

He is survived by his daughter, Rachel (Brice) Wulf of Clear Lake, WI; siblings, Linda (Lee) Hedblom of Huron, Sharon (Neil) Reinhardt of Huron, and Diane (Tom) Felderman of Doland; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his parents Milford and Janice Sprague, grandparents Ben and Ruby Sprague and Art and Ethlyn Ringheimer and aunts and uncles.
